  • Pour investir cette dent creuse,le parti architectural consiste à concentrer le programme de 30 logements enseulement deux entités bâties, dont les faibles emprises au sol permettent deménager de larges espaces verts. Le premier immeuble en R+5 se situe dansl’alignement de l’avenue Jean Jaurès. Il accueille une surface commerciale aurez-de-chaussée et au premier étage, ainsi que des appartements de type T3traversants aux étages supérieurs. Il se distingue côté avenue par une façadeen loggias, protégée par des volets perforés. Il vient renforcer la continuitébâtie du boulevard et affirmer sa vocation commerciale. La seconde entité,située à l’intérieur de la parcelle, se distingue par une configuration enétoile, rassemblant trois petits blocs verticaux, reliés par une coursiveouverte surplombant la voie d’accès piétonne et les espaces collectifs plantés.Ce second immeuble répond à un enjeu de compacité et d’économie du bâti quipermet de libérer un maximum de sol en cœur d’îlot. Le projet s’organise ainsiautour d’une maille d’espaces verts en pleine terre, définissant la voie detraverse comme une séquence de respirations paysagées, gage de confort pour leshabitants.

  • The site defined by the social housing office of Aubervilliers for thiscompetition is situated a few hundred meters away from the “périphérique”, the Parisring road , in a highly mixed and densely populated district, characterised byits “faubourg” atmosphere. Muoto Architects and CGarchitectes have answeredthis competition by designing a very compact project, distributing the 30housing units into two independent buildings, one facing the busy boulevard,the other occupying the centre of the particularly deep plot. The firstbuilding serves as a straight sound barrier between the boulevard and the greengardens of the plot, accommodating three-room apartments as well as commercialspaces. The second contains mixed typologies benefiting from multiple views,and stands as a cluster of three towers linked to each other by raised terracesoverlooking the gardens. This configuration stems from an alteration from theinitial program that planned a series of row houses at the back of the plot.Instead of these row houses, the architects have proposed to createindividualised units at the top of the building, turning the houses intopenthouses. The new configuration allows the upper flats to benefit from roofterraces and provides maximum open ground for collective green gardens. Thecompactness of the layout combined with large openings facing south allows thebuilding to comply with the BBC certification, standing for “bâtiment basseconsommation” (low consumption building). Labelled as the Tripod, the building celebrates the hybrid identity ofthe district, looking as if born from the merging of a gridded industrialbuilding from the 30’s with thin sloped tokyoian towers.
